1999 I set up shop as a licensee for a national guitar program teaching out of a local 
music store on Poway Road. 12 years later they down-sized and I lost my classroom.
After a little scrambling I hooked up with another music outfit almost directly across Poway Road from the original location, spent 4 years at that locale before I opened the doors to The Guitar Aces in April 2015, our own independent studio.
These last 3 1/2 years spent there on Quate Ct next to the Poway Library.
Using my intellectual skills, an abacus and my fingers & toes…I figure that equates to 19 1/2 years teaching on the Poway Road Corridor. The WHOLE current millennium, up to now, plus half a year in the 20th century. The Guitar Aces have become a fixture on Poway Rd., but, time to move on!
Our Quate Ct building is being sold to developers with the intention of mass development….of course Poway is littered with eye sore-empty lots that have been tagged for redevelopment and I don’t imagine this parcel will be much different. However, for the benefit of the citizens and businesses of Poway, I truly hope this project does become a reality and a catalyst for improving the Powegian experience!
Our new studio location is ready for move in and lessons will begin there in September. We will be a stone’s throw from Costco Gas and Home Depot in the Poway Business Park.
I am excited to get back to teaching after the move and break in the new studio! It will be odd not driving down Poway Rd. daily as I have done for almost the last 20 years, but, ultimately will be a great opportunity.
The Business Park is only 5 minutes from Poway Rd and easily accessible for our Poway and Scripps Ranch families and an even quicker ride from the 15 for students who travel from Rancho Bernardo, Carmel Mountain Ranch, 4S Ranch and Rancho Penasquitos and beyond.
